Data Loggers
Data Loggers (or Event Recorders) are fitted on rolling stock to record a variety of train controls and parameters over time. Nowadays most data loggers use Crash Protected Memory Modules to store the data. This memory is designed to withstand specific temperatures, impact shock, crush forces and magnetic field interference.
Examples of recorded events include:
- Train speed
- GPS location
- Date/ time
- Driver information
- Throttle position
- Brake Pipe and Cylinder pressures
- Horns
- Lights
- Vigilance Control states
