Connectors and cable

Australian Rail Technology are suppliers for rail approved connectors and cable. We understand the need for IP ratings, zero halogen, low smoke, insulation, high voltage and high current etc. We are able to source, supply and advise for various needs, with engineering input and specialised testing.

We supply:

• Huber and Suhner cable, RADOX®
• Harting connectors to DIN41612
• IP ratings covering all areas from Jumpers to PCB mounted edge connectors
• Custom pin configurations, custom receptacles
• Modular and hybrid solutions

Fasteners

Australian Rail Technology uses high quality AS/DIN/ISO standard fasteners and specialised fasteners for the rail and rolling stock industry. All high-current electrical joints are thoroughly prepared during assembly with regard to:

• flatness
• cleanliness
• silver and or tin plating
• jointing compound
• properly tensioned fasteners

Standard fasteners for outdoor applications:

• 4.6 to 8.8 galvanised used for non-load bearing structural connections
• 304 and 316 stainless used for all electrical joints
• 304 stainless used almost exclusively for all rolling stock requirements

Specialised fasteners – we are the Australian agent for Lanfranco lock nuts

• specialized locking nut commonly used where other lock nuts are inadequate
• critical electrical joints where thermal expansion is a factor
• heavy vibration or loading
• non-binding, no galling, reusable, suitable for high temperatures
